REMOVING ANIMAL FECES IN THE HOME
After we remove all of the animals from the attic, we will provide a plan of removing animal feces from your home. Once we have determined the amount of feces in the home, we will remove accessible insulation and waste products. The area will be treated with a decontaminating agent that will not only disinfect the area, but breaks down smaller organic waste. In some larger cases a entire attic clean-out maybe suggested and we will notify you if we feel that this would be in the homeowners best interest.
POTENTIAL HAZARDS
Most hazards related to animal feces are specifically related to the inhalation of the contaminated materials. However, in some cases where bats have been roosting in homeowners attics, the guano (bat droppings) may even contaminate the air filtration of attic fans and vents, found throughout the attic risking exposure to homeowners without them even entering the attic crawl spaces. Other forms of disease that can develop from over exposure to animal feces are Raccoon Roundworm, Histoplasmosis (a respiratory disease caused by bird and bat droppings), Eosinophilic Meningitis (caused by rats), Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (which is caused by rodent saliva, droppings and urine.)
